Lesson 1: Basic Personal Computing
You will learn how to navigate your computer system. What is the desktop, file system, screen savers, wallpaper, and programs. How to cut, copy, and paste files. Also learn how to defend your system from virus infections, spyware, and adware. How to save money by using freeware applications.

Lesson 2: Internet Basics
What is a web browser? Which one do I have? Are there others I can use?
How to search for anything on the internet. What is a search engine? Is there more than one way to search? How to find images, discussion groups and more. Learn about Google and Yahoo. How to set your home page. How to stay safe while surfing. What are warez, cracks, and file sharing?
You must already have an internet account set up before taking the lesson.

Lesson 3: Burning CD's
Do you have a cd burner but have no idea what to do with it? We can help you. If you have Windows XP and a compatible cd-burner you can use the built in burning functions of XP to make music or data cd's. Your system or burner might also have come with burning software such as Nero or Easy CD creator. Let us show you how to use it. Also, learn the difference between cdr and cdrw blanks so you get the right ones for your project.

Lesson 4: Building Websites
Have you always wanted to have your own website but don't know where to begin? We can help you get started the right way. Learn how to write the html language using only a simple notepad. You will write your first web page by hand and be able to view it in less than 5 minutes. It's that easy!
Learn how to insert text, graphics, and scripts into your pages. How to publish your pages to the internet using Tripod. Also, learn how to get a domain name and a large amount of web space for around $30 per year. You need to already have mastered cut, copy, and paste before taking this lesson. If you have not then please do lesson 1 first.

Lesson 5: How to convert your tapes or records to cd
You will learn how to use a free sound editing utility to convert your old records or tapes into cd's. Learn how to properly connect an audio cable.
Test the system mixer to see if it can receive sound. Record sound from an external device or musical instrument. Basic sound editing. Free multi track recording. What are loops? How to change your music into mp3 files.
You must have a cd burner to convert to cd's. You can make sound files such as mp3's without a burner.
